Schott Glass Ltd is the UK sales subsidiary of Schott Glas whose headquarters are in Mainz, in central Germany. Schott Glas is a world leader in glass manufacturing, employing over 4,000 people worldwide and producing a vast range of special glass products using some 150 inorganic raw materials. The Group has a turnover in excess of 3 billion DM's (£1 billion), with representation in over 70 countries worldwide. Schott manufactures some 50,000 different products. Included in the range are products whose exceptional physical and chemical properties make them essential components in advanced technology for science, research and industry. The applications for Schott products are wide and varied. We manufacture practically every glass product conceivable, and many others you would not imagine to be made of glass, with the exception of ordinary window glass and ordinary bottles.

Schott's special glass products are widely used in the pharmaceutical, electronics, domestic appliance, catering, retail, optical, precision engineering and construction industries throughout the world. Schott Glass Ltd, based in Stafford, is responsible for sales, marketing and distribution of the Schott Group's specialist glass products in the UK and Ireland.

The five product areas that are represented are:

The Architectural Glass department sells fire-resisting glass, anti-reflective glass and coloured glass

The Consumer Products department sells Schott Zwiesel crystal glassware and Jenaer Glas household glassware.

The Electronic Packaging department sells electronic components for glass-to-metal seals.

The Industrial Products department is sub-divided into:

Domestic Appliances - CERAN glass ceramic hobs, heat-resistant glass, burner mats and hollow glass, television components (funnels and screens)and glass for sunbeds.
General Industry - High temperature glass, high pressure windows, pressed/blown borosilicate and dairy jars.
Lighting - low voltage halogen lamp reflectors, fresnel lenses for theatre lighting, hazardous environmental well glasses for street lighting and glass bulbs and tubing.

The Tubing & Laboratory department sells laboratory glassware, laboratory apparatus, products for manipulators and glass tubing.
